Michael CheneySo in this interview, Michael Cheney says he makes $1,000 a day some days with Adsense, other days less.

And then he goes on to do what most web marketers do: Not really tell you how.

Same old splash page stuff, same teasing. Ai yi yi. Give me something useful.

Whose Adsense Account is This?Okay, maybe I’m just tired and need to “Silence Your Rooster” but these online marketers who promise to tell me how to make a gazillion dollars online if I’d only buy their whatever-priced e-book are seriously getting old.

Michael Cheney has been online for a while, since 2004 from what I can tell.

And I did like his tip about researching the high-paying keywords and try to rank high for those.

I might try that.

But this is the whole reason I don’t want to charge a gazillion dollars to people trying to learn how to make money online. People need the money to put gas in their cars — not a bunch of hooey.

Making Money Online with a Free Blogger Blog - How One BlogSpot Blogger Made $679.08 in July 2008…

Making Money Online - How one BlogSpot blogger is doing it...Now here’s an interesting story of how somebody named “Charles Schwabs” — at least they could try and spell the man’s name right! — made money online with a free Blogger blog.

Obviously one of Personal Finance Management and Planning’s tips is to use a hot white blonde as their profile pic. I’ve done this in the past — ’specially for those horn dogs on Digg — but in the end, I think being real is what wins. Or, real anonymous and pretending to have a site authored by multiple authors to get your website listed on Google News. Hint, hint…

How is the BlogSpot Blogger Making Money Online with a Free Blog?

As you can see, nearly half of the money they’re making online is from Google Adsense — and I love the way their top Google ads show up so large on their BlogSpot blog. I’m totally copying that Blogspot theme when I get done with this post.

I see it’s the Tekka free BlogSpot template that you can grab from their regular list of templates, if you’re on Blogger.

And I see that they pulled in the Adsense code using Blogger’s “gadget” template widget — I just pulled in text only ads front and center like they did near the top of my Blogger blog. I’ll bet you this will explode my earnings over there.

You see how researching how other bloggers are making money pays off?

Quality Content is Really Key to Making Good Money Online…

Making Money Online with Personal Finance Management and Planning's BlogFor the most part, a cursory review of their content turns up interesting posts like this one, asking why PayPerPost’s top earner only made $368.49 one month with them.

I love it.

Thanks to Personal Finance Management and Planning for showing us how they are making money online!

Adsense Autoclicker - Is it worth it?

Black Hat Money?I kept checking my “recent keyword activity” to see what search terms would bring people here and ironically, the first search term that helped someone find this site was “Adsense Autoclicker” — something I’d never heard of.

Searching around for “Adsense Autoclicker” info, I found a post that describes Adsense autoclicks and the like — as well as interesting forum postings about Adsense Autoclicker.

How Much Money Does Adsense Autoclicker Make People?

That’s what I want to know — if any Adsense Autoclicker user is brave enough to post up their income online.

I see scraper sites all the time, and actually figured out how to use the wp-o-matic plugin to create automatic posts (I’m sure people who use those things might also use Adsense autoclicker tools) — but I didn’t want to do that.

The wp-o-matic is cool, but I want to keep abreast of what content I’m creating. Heaven forbid I lead people to some crazy sites.

While black-hatters tend not to post their income online, one guy who turned black hat did spell out the $175,000 - $400,000 a year he was making on Paula’s List of Blogger Salaries.

Not saying he used Adsense Autoclicker, but I wonder what he did to get the money?

I’m staying on the side of legality (I pray) to make my Adsense monies the right way…

»»»»»»»» Ways to Make Money Online - $2,0005.26 in Google Adsense for July 2008 Says It’s Still One of the Great Ways to Make Money Online…

Need Ways to Make Money Online? Here’s How I Really Made $2,005.26 in Google Adsense Money Online Last Month…

People are really searching for “ways to make money online” — so much so that the search term “ways to make money online” jumped from an average of 135,000 searches per month to 368,000 searches per month, according to Google.

If you need a way to make money online…

…first off, click the screen shot pic of my Google Adsense income last month for proof that I know what I’m talking about — then read and put into practice the tips below the pic that I used to get that Adsense income to increase into on of the best ways to make money online today…

Click to enlarge the pic of my Google Adsense income - a great way to make money online:

Google Adsense - One of th great ways to make money online

Google Adsense - One of the great ways to make money online

1 - BLOG ABOUT GOOGLE TRENDS ITEMS 90% OF THE TIME…

…or as much as you can stomach them. (And watch out for the Google Trends list scammers who sometimes put false topics on there or link to fake stories that automatically start download stuff on your PC — I immediately shut mine off the couple of times that happened.)

Switching my mindset from blogging about the topics I wanted to write about — or what I thought people were interested in reading about — to mainly blogging about what people were actually searching for each day on Google Trends list was a “Eureka!” moment for me.

Yes, we can still blog ad naseum about the things that get us going — but one way to try and get a great boost in traffic to your site is to hone in on the proof you have of the topics people are literally searching for — Google Trends — and post about those topics. Try to hit about 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 of them a day, if you have time, and watch your traffic (and therefore your income, usually) increase.

2 - BUT NOT JUST ANY GOOGLE TRENDS ITEM…

Try and pick the Google Trends items that don’t have too much written about them already — especially by well-established, well-PageRanked news or websites that are better placed than yours.

Not to say that you can’t out-SEO just about any site out there (I’ve been able to get great rankings above MSNBC on some topics — more on that later) but it helps to write about topics that look more like this:

Click to Enlarge the Pic of a Sample Good Google Trends Topic to Write About:

Make Money Online by Writing About Topics Highly Searched, Not Highly Written About

Make Money Online by Writing About Topics Highly Searched, Not Highly Written About

You see how that search was Peter Uberoff was spiking way high at Number #7 but hardly had no news reports written about him and the most recent blog posts were old? That would be a good place to start — a topic without much written about it, but with lots of people searching for it.

It helps to already know something about your topic — or to be a good researcher and fast writer to find out good info for your readers fast.

3 - OUT SEO THEM ALL…

…by using this actual formula to write your posts that have helped me get to the top of Google’s search-engine results page (SERPs) for many terms.

The h2 and h3 things you see are called “header tags,” something I used to wonder what the heck they were when I read other techies talking about them.

Even if you’re on Blogger or another content management system, you can use them inside your posts. Just flip to the HTML tab of your post (not the Visual or Preview or whatever your WYSIWYG “what you see is what you get” tab is called.)

Firstly, notice how I wrapped the “Need Ways to Make Money Online?” inside an h2 tag straight away? Try to wrap whatever search term you’re trying to get ranked highly in Google for, say for instance Peter Uberoff, inside a h2 tag right way in your post.

I’ve found that Google pays more attention to h2 and h3 tags more than regular bold tags — but still use bold throughout your post — and especially in the first paragraph and at the beginning of your post title — which hopefully your template has wrapped in an h1 tag.

For example, if I were trying to rank high for Peter Uberoff, I’d start off my post with Peter Uberoff at the start in the title and repeat it — like “Peter Uberoff Hot Search: Peter Uberoff’s Claim for Whatever…” — I’d repeat it not only in the title of the post itself, but also in the first paragraph, the first h2 subhead, and throughout the post about him, especially in the first paragraph.

Click to enlarge the pic of the way you can write your post in the HTML mode:

Follow this formula to get more blog traffic...

One more amazing trick I learned is to wrap my labels in h3 tags - like in this post about Michael Phelps’ screaming when Jason Lezak won that awesome relay last night, notice how I wrapped the labels at the bottom of the post in a h3 tag with the same search terms people were searching for according to Google Trends?

Just copy the main search term and any applicable “related searches” Google Trends gives you in a h3 tag labeled “Labels” and that should help you out…

4 - USE »»»»»»»» IN YOUR POST TITLE…

BlueHatSeo.com was the first one to hip me to putting characters in your post titles or blog title that Google doesn’t strip out, but helps bring attention to your posts.

Even when I don’t get the Number #1 spot in Google for some search terms, I find that having the »»»»»»»» preceding my blog post titles and blog name in general helps people go a-clickin’ on them!

Just copy and paste that »»»»»»»» in front of your title, but if you’re on WordPress — strip out the crazy characters it places in the Permalink field before publishing as you can see how I did in the above pic. (Notice how the permalink starts with “ways-to-make-money-online” instead of those crazy characters.

Warning: Some say overuse of the symbols can cause Google to ding you, but I’m praying I stay safe and highly ranked!

Make Money Online These Ways...
And for heaven’s sake, use Custom Structure Permalinks if you’re on WordPress so that words will show up in your URL, not just crazy numbers — I believe this is why I’ve been blest to get ranking over MSNBC and other sites who just have crazy numbers in their URL instead of words.

Under Settings, Permalinks, choose the “Custom, specify below” radio button, and make the custom structure look like this:

Custom Structure: /%postname%/%post_id%/

Make sure then to click on the “Save Changes” button to save your changes.

This will give each new post you publish a URL indicative of the title.

5 - USE WORDPRESS.ORG, AND DANIEL SCOCCO’S STUDIO THEMES

…if you’re on a free Blogger.com blog like I started out on, or using a free Wordpress.com site, consider buying your own domain name (or get the first one free) combined with your own hosting thru a company like DreamHost.com

I use DreamHost.com and have been very satisfied with them. The few times my sites have gone down, Dream Host has been pretty responsive in getting them back up and running soon enough.

It only cost me 23 bucks the first year to get a free domain name and hosting for that WatchFreeEpisodes.com site, and I’ve added plenty more since then — and pay around 10 bucks a month.

DreamHost.com comes with easy “one-click installs” where you can download WordPress onto your dot com — and I’ve been loading mine up with Daniel Scocco’s Studio Pres WordPress Themes, which I find to be clean, trouble free, and pretty well SEO’d out the box.

6 - USE MEDIUM RECTANGLE, TEXT ONLY GOOGLE ADS UP FRONT AND CENTER…

…one of the cool ways to make money online with Google Ads is to put the medium rectangle ad front and center, with text only as opposed to image ads.

This is the best formula I’ve found for a great click-thru rate — some days near 5% — on my site about watching TV online.

Of course, it probably depends on the subject, but I’ve found that blended my ads within the posts didn’t work well for me. I may try it again on a different theme and see what happens.

7 - REMOVE COOL FEED LISTS OFF YOUR WEBSITE IF YOU WANT TO MAKE MONEY ONLINE…

Recently I used that cool FeedList plugin to pull in some cool feed news items into my sidebar. Turns out they were too cool!

What — with all that news about Paris Hilton or Obama or whatever was pulling in just as a supplement to my content was so interesting to my readers that they must’ve clicked on over to it right away!

I watched my Google Adsense earnings dip to 15 bucks one day — which bless the Lord — is really low for my sites. I removed the feed and went back to my philosophy of posting spelled out here, and did 83 bucks in one day the other day. Some days crack 100, I believe, and will see twice that with this site, I declare, be it El Shaddai’s will…

8 - POST FREQUENTLY — IT’S TRUE!

The old mantra about posting frequently is true. There’s tons more stuff I want to tell you all about making money online — so make sure to grab the rss feed above right to stay tuned for updates — but posting often does kinda beget a website that gets updated frequently by Google.

Of course I did all the stuff you should do with Google Webmaster Tools:

  • Like verifying the site…
  • Creating a sitemap using the free XML sitemap generator and uploading that thru Google Webmaster Tools, but I haven’t done that in a long time and removed the sitemap from Google…

  • And a bunch more things that I’ll write about in the future. But time combined with frequent posting, giving your readers what they’re looking for and great backlinks just may get you more traffic and more money.

Speaking of traffic, make sure you do this…

9 - DOWNLOAD THE EXCELLENT ALL-IN-ONE SEO PACK WORDPRESS PLUGIN…

…I’ve found the All-in-One SEO pack to be above par in whatever it does to get the traffic to my sites.

Here’s how I use it (I leave all the options at the bottom at their defaults) but don’t stuff your keywords and description too full, because I think that’s how my site about black people news and stuff got punished by Google.

Well, I’m fresh off a 3-day season of being blest by the secrets to get closer to Him and on fire with new vision — which explains why I attached that pic of the gold being poured out abundantly from an invisible hand in the sky that I’ve been seeing a lot in my mind’s eye lately.

Online Income From January - August 2008 (Yes I know August isn’t over yet, but I know what I earned pretty much this month):

MONEY MAKERS AMOUNT MADE THE BACKSTORY
Google Adsense $10,595.04 Amazingly, all my websites have generated over ten grand in the first 8 months of 2008. In the spirit of honesty like we studied last night before breaking our corporate fast, I’ll confess that the start of the year found me pitching Google Earth via Google Adwords — and when I realized that was a no-no, I didn’t really want to stop. But Google stopped me, and struck a deal and paid me out the Adsense income I was due, part of which was my Adsense for Content earnings. (I’ll never call Google evil!) So technically I should deduct around $3,600 from this number — representing around the amount I spent on advertising Google Earth — which ended up being a wash with what I earned. The remainder would be net income from Google Adsense — and I ain’t complaining!

    Make Money Selling Amazon Products

, Amazon Associates Germany, Amazon Associates France, Amazon Associates United Kingdom,Amazon Associates Canada, No Sales Yet From Amazon Associates Japan

$6,720.93 I didn’t feel like breaking down my Amazon monies earned by country like I did the last income posting, but I can tell you this: Selling Nintendo Wiis at Christmastime was a direct blessing from God. I remember seeing 25 sold from Amazon Germany in one day! Awesome…So that money came in much-needed at the beginning of 2008 to cover all my other snafus above. But Germany wasn’t too bad to get the money from. Amazon UK and Germany paid promptly enough — considering it came from overseas. Amazon France was the biggest hassle to get the money out of, but they did eventually pay. Then Google dropped the ranking or something for my Wii site, so I panicked and started another — and have sold some Wii games and stuff here and there. Will the Wiis pick up again in a few months? I’ll let you all know…
PayPerPost $7.50 After getting burned by the Google Pagerank slapdown on us PayPerPosters, or IZEAers, as it were, I kinda lost the feeling for PPP. This seven fifty came from some kind of referral fee — and I guess that’s all I’ve made from them all year. I checked the open opportunities on PPP in times of desperation, but nothing floated my boat enough to post.
Text Link Ads $234.07 This is steadily growing. Bless God I finally cracked Alexa’s Top 100,000 sites for my WatchFreeEpisodes.com — and people have been buying more post-level ads.
Associated Content $1,188.00 Associated Content is another site I’m glad I was directed to about two years ago, in August 2006. (There’s that 8 number again…) AC was my first foray into writing online and trying to make money at it — so they’ll always hold a soft spot in my heart. And I, like a head-strong teen that’s moved on to better things — sulking a bit when I didn’t win the 5 grand challenge recently — but glad to have gone back to publish something to keep my bonuses a-comin’ — I am glad AC has been forward-thinking enough to reward us long-time writers with higher page-view bonus payouts based on our clout. Another good step ordered by the Lord — I barely write for them, but still get a cut of the hard work ad money I created for them.
Feedburner Ad Network $14.10 I kinda forget about Feedburner Ad Network till the little bit of monies pops up in my PayPal account — but I’ll still take it. This is the money trickling in from those Google Ad links at the bottom of our first postings on our sites, and I find that people must not like clicking on those. Money-making tip: I get my best clicks from the Medium Rectangle text-only Google Ads you see on many of my sites, smack dab front and center like above. Unless I’m doing something wrong with the FAN, I’d love to find out how much other people are making with them…
Kontera $1,147.74 Kontera has really come thru and been a blessing for me. I was just amazed to see $429.26 earned for the month of July 2008 in my Kontera account — to be paid in September 2008 — and did a little Holy Spirit falling jerk in my gut at the realization. Out of all the in-text link ad programs out there, I’m glad I started out with Kontera ever since I read about them on John Chow’s blog, and signed up with them. They’ve moved to direct deposit since I’ve been with them, and they’ve updated and improved their website. There’s something about Kontera ads that people like clicking on — and as long as they’re clean, I like that!
Link Share $380.25 Link Share is building up to be a nice little money maker, and works nice for the online TV shows I sell thru iTunes. I only wish they broke down further which specific iTunes shows I’m selling, to help me more with sales evaluation.
Rubicon Project $87.21 The Rubicon Project sounded good at first — and boy was I glad to get that extra 50 or so I wasn’t expecting from them promptly one day. But I removed their ads because although it’s cool to have so many places to pull ads from, you can’t ban any (I don’t think) like I do thru Google’s Competitive Ad filter to try and keep the crappy ads at bay. And they don’t let you log on their site with Firefox!
    GRAND TOTALS

    $20,375.34

All in all, to go from not knowing people even made money online when I put up my first post on Blogger in December 2005 — to be on par to make over $30,000 online in 2008 — or probably much much more, can only be from my Father in heaven. I’ve got a feeling this benchmark is just an eye-opener from Him to say, “See how far I’ve brought you!” only to whisper, “You ain’t see nothin’ yet…” After all, the number 33 has been everywhere in my brain lately. Come to find out tonight that it means “promise…”
